We collect the following information when you use Vocabular:
- Account information: Your email address and encrypted password when you create an account.
- Vocabulary data: Words, translations, and context you save while using the app or extension.
- Usage data: Review progress, learning streaks, and study statistics stored locally on your device.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide and improve the Vocabular service:
- To authenticate your account and enable cloud sync across devices.
- To store and retrieve your saved vocabulary.
- To track your learning progress.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database service with enterprise-grade security. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:

We do not sell, share, or provide your personal data to any other third parties.
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

- Export your vocabulary data.
Cookies and Analytics
Vocabular collects anonymous usage statistics across the website, mobile app, and browser extension to understand which features are used and to improve the product.
- Anonymous only: Usage events are never linked to your account, name, or email address. We do not build user profiles.
- What we collect: Feature-usage counts (for example, "a word was saved" or "a flashcard was reviewed"), language pair codes, app version, platform, and visits to the pages of our own website.
- What we never collect: The words you translate or save, your translations, the web pages you read or visit, your email address, or any other personal information.
- No cookies: Our website analytics run without cookies — nothing is stored on your device — and the "Do Not Track" browser setting is respected.
- No advertising: We use no advertising trackers and never sell or share usage data. Analytics data is processed by PostHog in the European Union.
Children's Privacy
Vocabular is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
